As you may be aware Refugee Week is from Sunday 14th June to Saturday 20th June.

Michael Dwyer AM, Chairman of Australia for UNHCR, joins us to talk about his 20 year journey with UNHCR.

Trudy Witbreuk State Director, NSW Office of DFAT, will chat about her work with DFAT.

Michael is a committed advocate for refugees and has been a board director for Australia for UNHCR since its launch in 2000.  During this time he has visited UNHCR operations in countries such as East Timor, Turkey and Lebanon to see the impact of Australian donations and meet with refugees to learn firsthand about their needs.

Trudy is the State Director, NSW State Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She also concurrently serves as Australia’s Senior Official for the Trans Pacific Partnership-11 agreement.  She was the Chief Negotiator for the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. She also led DFAT’s work on trade advocacy and outreach
