Opening of Guriwal Trail in Centennial Park

28 May 2021, 11:00 - 28 May 2021, 14:00

Celebrate the opening of the revitalised Guriwal Trail and public works programme in Centennial Park This is a joint venture between Centennial Parklands, the City of Sydney Council and the Rotary Club of Sydney,   linking the site to its original owners.

  • Tours of the trail by the Parkland’s volunteer manager and education team. A chance  to “get your hands dirty” if you wish, with some trail maintenance. Also to enjoy drinks, nibbles and fellowship with the club’s Past Presidents.

  • Rotary has a long association with Centennial Parklands. In 1948 President of the Rotary Club of Sydney Les Rigby planted a Firewheel (Stenocarpus sinuatus) in Frog Hollow. Since then a total of 18 trees have been planted by Rotarians, and in 2015 a plaque was unveiled recognizing the planting of these trees over time.

  • You can book Celebrate the Guriwal Trail as part of the Centenary Package; tickets for this event only will be available in mid May but for now book the package or hold the date.

You are invited to make an additional donation to Rotary’s Give Every Child a Future, our Centenary Project to immunise 100,000 children across nine Pacific Island countries ($45 to immunise 1 child, $450 (10 children) or $4,500 (100 children to celebrate 100 years. – Give Every Child a Future.
