Fundu Isin-Di’ak Timor-Leste or East Timor Health Project

Fundu Isin-Di′ak means ″Fund for Good Health″ in Tetun

This Rotary Club of Sydney initiative, led by Past President James Allen as the President’s project, was established as a Fund of the Sydney Medical School Foundation at the University of Sydney in 2011. The Fund’s mission was to improve the health of the people of Timor-Leste through the education and training of Timorese health professionals; to assist the Timor-Leste Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosae.  It aimed to eradicate two nasty parasitic diseases caused by lymphatic filariasis and intestinal worms affecting the population of Timor-Leste. It was the beneficiary of a global grant from the Rotary Foundation.
