Please Join us for a rare opportunity for a glance at behind-the-scene access to the Australia’s oldest cathedral - St Andrew’s Cathedral, in Sydney.
We’ll be lead by the Dean of Sydney, Rev Sandy Grant, Dean of Sydney at this stunning place.
St Andrew’s Cathedral was consecrated in 1868 and boasts a beautiful ‘gothic revival’ style with intricate interior decorations, furnishings, joinery, and art. The Dean will give us a private tour, highlighting some of the cathedral’s most significant stained glass windows and heritage artefacts, including the Gallipoli flag and a 500-year-old Great Bible.
One of the highlights of the tour is climbing the bell tower. It’s not for the faint of heart or those with severe claustrophobia, as it involves climbing a tight staircase for several levels. But if you’re up for it, you’ll get a breathtaking view of the city from up there.
St Andrew’s Cathedral is located at the corner of George and Bathurst Streets, right next to Town Hall train and light rail stations. It’s a popular destination for Anglicans, other Christians, seekers of all backgrounds, and tourists to Sydney, as well as history and architecture buffs.
If you’re interested in joining us, for the tour & an afternoon tea, please book on line before 15th January, for catering purpose and I look forward seeing you in January.
