Following a greater number of applications this year, ten scholarship recipients were announced on 19 November 2024.

 

 
The Rotary PCYC Youth Encouragement Scholarships (YES!)  is a project that aims to elevate young achievers to accelerate their passion for their interest areas. Each scholarship is designed to empower our young people, assisting them to build and maintain skills, knowledge and experience to go towards their chosen area of interest.

Ava – Port Macquarie
SPORTS category - selected for Australian Open Women's Wanderers Rugby League International Tour.

Claudia – Shoalhaven
SPORTS category – studying PDHPE & VET Fitness 

Haelan –  Wagga Wagga  
SPORTS category - Selected for Wanderers Australia Jnr Boys AFL International Rules Tour 2025 

Jaiden –  Lake Illawarra 
ENVIRONMENT category - scholarship will assist with accreditations to become a drone pilot 

Joanna – Liverpool 
EDUCATION category - scholarship will assist tuition fees, equipment and purchase of textbooks and supplies 

Jonathan – Mt Druitt  
EDUCATION category -  fees associated with the completion of the Certificate IV in Youth Work in 2025
 
Riley – Taree
SPORTS category - assistance his continued developing within the sport of boxing
 
Sebastian – Grafton
SPORTS category - assist as his embarks on his golfing career
 
Soana – Liverpool 
EDUCATION category – scholarship will contribute to the cost of her nursing degree that she will undertake in 2025
 
Tahira –  Sydney 
EDUCATION category – scholarship will assist to overcome financial barriers to further her education and training

The YES! scholarship launched in 2021 to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia and long-term partnership with PCYC NSW. Each year, $24 000 is raised through Rotary donations to fund eight scholarships of up to $3000 to young people aged 14 to 17 years across the state, with four scholarships awarded to young people in regional areas of NSW and four to those living in the Sydney metropolitan area.
