Amy MOUAFI Criminologist, Public Servant and Director of A.M Consultant & Associates
• Over 20 year's specialist and management experience within the field of violence and crime, intervention and
prevention and community informed public policy for government and non-government organisations.
• Launched A.M Consultants and Associates in 2020 after years of being sought after to provide training, professional
services, presentations and keynote speaking at conferences. The consultancy draws on Amy’s work in domestic
violence, sexual assault and violent crims as well as applied leadership and building effective teams.
• Presently working as the Deputy Director for Regional Recovery, Department of Regional NSW (formerly Department of
Premier & Cabinet) reviewing government recovery programs and shifting focus to prevention and disaster
preparedness. In 2021, led the investigation and research reporting on the impacts of COVID border closures and
restrictions on cross-border communities.

• Authored papers and presented on diversity paradigms of domestic violence homicides and how diversity of thought led to
the first successful prosecution of female genital mutilation in the Western world, in Mechelen, Belgium (2017); Prato,
Italy (2017); Terrigal, NSW (2017) and Melbourne, VIC (2017).
• Key Achievements while working for NSW Police Force
o Implemented changes in how investigations and prosecutions of Domestic Violence in Aboriginal
Communities to address historical barriers between the community and police
o Developed and implemented specialised police prosecution training and curriculum, the first of its kind in
Australia and New Zealand policing jurisdictions
o Enhanced evidence collection through video and still photo evidence
